Be the Citys Villain How to Reach Wanted 99
Raise heat, spend bounty on time, and treat 55 / 75 / 90 as bosses — not as more cops.
Wanted 99 is the published win in Be the Citys Villain. It is not a hidden quest and it is not an AFK timer. You get there by collapsing city geometry faster than the army collapses you, with a shop plan that still works when rival supers spawn at 55, 75, and 90. After 99 you may keep going; the experience is endless. This page is the route. Getting Started is the on-ramp if you have not finished a clean early run.
The win condition in one paragraph
Destroy buildings → wanted climbs → bounty drops → you buy Flight, Heat Vision, Ground Slam, and Chest Blast during the run → the army scales (tanks, gunships, mechs) → hunters check you at 55 / 75 / 90 → 99 ticks and you have beaten the contract. Dying resets the argument. There is no lobby trophy that substitutes for the meter.
If you stall at 40, you have a farming or shop problem. If you stall at 55–60, you have a hunter problem. If you stall at 90, you have a panic problem. Different pages help: upgrade powers for the shop, survive the army for the checks, upgrade priority for the order.
Phase 1 — 0 to 40: buy the right run
Play this phase like a builder, not like a final boss.
- Seed two quiet blocks. Slam is allowed. Standing in the crater is not.
- First shop: Flight takeoff, then Heat Vision range. This is the powers gospel and it does not change because 99 is far away.
- Relocate after each intersection. Early tanks still spawn if you camp.
- Do not complete the slam track. You are saving the run, not the trailer shot.
A 40 that arrives with stable hover and a working beam is already a 99 attempt. A 40 that arrives as a walking crater is a 55 funeral.
Phase 2 — 40 to 54: airborne economy
Heat Vision should now pay the bills. Slam is a bonus on empty streets. Chest Blast gets its first real node before 55, not during the fight.
Farm in a lazy S-curve through the skyline: facade, move, facade, change altitude. Gunships start to matter here. A straight hover is a request to be deleted. If you must slam, pre-pick the takeoff heading and do not slam toward visible armor.
Shop on roofs. If the panel is slow, skip the shop rather than eat a rocket. Bounty in the pocket is still yours after you relocate. Bounty on a corpse is architecture.
Phase 3 — 55, 75, 90: hunter windows
These are not flavor numbers. They are the three times the city sends a super to hunt you. Play each as a boss arena.
Before the tick. Have Chest Blast available. Have altitude. Do not start a slam animation at 54, 74, or 89 “to squeeze one more building.”
During the fight. Kite with Flight. Poke with Heat Vision. Spend Chest Blast when the rival commits, not when you are nervous at 200 meters. Ground Slam is a last resort that plants you in their kill zone.
After the fight. Do not immediately dump remaining bounty into slam radius as a celebration. Buy whatever just almost killed you — usually air control or blast recovery — then resume laser farming.
If you are in a duo, one villain should be dedicated peel (laser + blast) while the other is allowed to farm the edge of the arena. Stacking both bodies on the hunter is how you double-die. Co-op tips has the role split.
Phase 4 — 56 to 89: farm under fire
The peaceful city is gone. You still need wanted. That means Heat Vision from awkward angles, short slam snacks only when a district is actually clear, and constant heading changes so gunships cannot lead you.
Mechs love the hole you already made. Do not return to a finished crater because it is “your” crater. Fresh blocks pay the same and have less memory of you.
If wanted climbs slowly, you are over-kiting. If you die constantly, you are over-farming. Oscillate on a 30-second rhythm: ten seconds of deletion, twenty seconds of being a bad gunship target, shop if the sky is empty.
Phase 5 — 90 to 99: close the contract
Ninety is the last hunter. Survive it with the same play as 55, just less ego. Then you need nine more wanted ticks. This is where people throw the run on a landmark they have been saving.
Do not.
Pick medium buildings you can finish from a hover. Ignore slam unless the street is theatre-empty. Hold Chest Blast in case the hunter is still in the neighborhood. Tick 99. Then breathe.
Endless. The listing is explicit: you can keep going. The army will not get nicer. Spend like a survivor. Take screenshots. Reset when the session is not fun — 99 already counted. There is also a rare Wanted Level 300 badge for villains who keep the meter climbing long after the win — treat it as an optional endurance flex, not the main contract.
Efficiency tricks that are not cheats
- Height is a resource. A hover you can hold is worth more than a slam you cannot leave.
- New blocks beat old holes. Armor camps memory.
- Shop with intent. The bounty spend guide exists so you do not browse during a gunship pass.
- Codes are extra, not a skip. Redeem on the codes page if a real string exists; they will not teleport the meter to 99.
- Scripts are not a route. There is no verified injector. The scripts hub is a warning label.
Failure log (read yours honestly)
| Death | Actual cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Street, early | No Flight | Buy takeoff, not slam radius |
| Hover, mid | Straight-line gunship | Change altitude every facade |
| Crater, 55 | Slam into a hunter | Hold blast, stay high |
| Shop panel | Opened in an intersection | Roof only |
| 90+ landmark | Greed | Medium buildings, hover farm |
When your log is boring — “I got greedy at 92” — you are close enough to 99 that the video on this page is a pace check, not a miracle.
